Hello
to all fellow animal lovers!
We have some NEWS...
These last weeks have been the hardest days we've ever experienced. The emotions we are feeling still run very deep. We didn’t think we could continue. After meeting with our entire crew, listening to all of our fellow animal lovers, reading every person’s positive emails, and trying to put our feelings aside, we decided that Pete would not want us to give up this easily. Pete would not want our mission and his mission to cease.
We will continue one way or another, for him.
The main issues that we've been waiting to find out are:
First - GOOD NEWS! about Rocky, the Liger. We've been told that he will get to LIVE out his life here at Safaris. Thank you! Thank you for all your prayers.
Second - As a benefit to raise funds for the animals’ food, we are going to reopen for Thanksgiving weekend, Saturday & Sunday, November 29th & 30th, from 12 noon to 5pm.
Our hearts have been broken and we have an emptiness because we have been unable to continue educating the public.
The animals have seemed depressed and actually appear lonely due to the isolation from the friends (YOU) they have come to know over these years.
We will keep Pete's spirit and dream alive with a revived drive to educate everyone on the dangers of having exotic animals as pets. The reality. Our mission.
The holidays are now among us, so we HAVE to tell everyone not to impulse buy an exotic animal for a gift!, without knowing it will have a safe and healthy home for the life of the animal. Do your research!
Even if you know where to buy a tiger, snake, wolf or skunk-don’t do it!
Any kind of baby animal is adorable and it feels good to give the perfect gift, but remember, all babies grow up. KNOW first if it’s legal where you live! ... then what the animal will grow to be, how long it will live, how BIG it will get, how much it will eat, what it eats, and if there's even a vet that will touch it.
Safari's is FOR THE LOVE OF THE ANIMALS, and the mission starts with educating YOU, before you get an animal that might end up with us!
Come visit us. Come meet our rescues and come meet Rocky the Liger.
Forever for the animals,
Lori Ensign
